The title says it all. Here, if you look closely, you can see the sliver of ebonit glued into place in the shank. It’s very rough and the edges stick out everyplace but that will be sanded and tamed in the next days. I’m using a forstner bit to face the end of the shank. It helps to give the stem/shank interface a more seamless fit. This one is showing huge promise so check back for pics of the outcome.
